About Us
Erik Lewis was born in Western Kansas, raised in Brussels, Belgium then Granite City, Illinois – just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. After moving to Durango, he started Canyon Landscape and Masonry in 2005 with a focus in traditional stone masonry. His dedication to structural stone masonry and traditional techniques makes him a true artisan and craftsman.
As a member of the Stone Foundation, (www.stonefoundation.org), an international organization of stonemasons, he has been attending symposiums and workshops since 2006. His work and symposiums have taken him all over the Four Corners region, to the East and West coasts, and to Mallorca, Spain.
Through years of experience, Erik has developed a sense of balance in his work. Using native plants and water wise techniques for low maintenance and low water use, Canyon Landscape specializes in building Southwest gardens which are appropriate and thrive in high desert and mountain regions.
